OEB approves pipeline construction in Lambton County
Published: 11-Mar-2010
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has approved an application by the Dawn Gateway Pipeline Limited Partnership to construct a 17 kilometer (km) natural gas pipeline and associated facilities in the Townships of St. Clair and Dawn-Euphemia.
The pipeline is part of a larger project in which Spectra Energy and DTE formed a joint venture known as the Dawn Gateway Pipeline Limited Partnership (DGLP) to develop the Dawn Gateway Pipeline, a 34 km pipeline that will start at the Belle River Mills storage facility in Michigan and end at the Dawn Compressor Site in Ontario.
The regulatory framework which the board approved will allow DGLP to charge negotiated rates for transportation services on the Dawn Gateway Pipeline up to a specified maximum.
OEB regulates the province’s electricity and natural gas sectors in the public interest. It envisions a viable and efficient energy sector with informed consumers and works toward this vision through regulation that is effective, fair and transparent.
