Versar secures two $2.2 million construction projects

Versar has been awarded two contracts to construct a liquid oxygen storage plant in Lorton and a design-build project at the Robinson-Merhige US Federal Courthouse in Richmond, Virginia.
The Liquid Oxygen Storage Plant project is for the Griffith Water Treatment Plant through the Fairfax County, Virginia Water Authority. The 10 month project involves installation of liquid oxygen storage tanks, cryogenic and high purity stainless steel piping, instrumentation, controls and general construction.
The project for the Spottswood W. Robinson III and Robert R. Merhige, Jr. US Federal Courthouse in Richmond, Virginia is scheduled to begin in May and is for the design, manufacturing, and installation services for a 115 kW DC rooftop mounted utility-interactive photovoltaic system. The project will involve installing the solar energy plant 135 feet above the street level on the roof of the courthouse facility.
